Operation for World highest weight lady

An Egyptian woman, believed to be the heaviest in the world at 78st (1,102lb), has undergone life-saving weight loss surgery. Eman Ahmed Adb El Aty was flown to Mumbai’s Saifee Hospital on a specially modified plane for the bariatric surgery.

Iman suffered from a cerebral stroke at 11, which left her bed bound and increasingly gaining weight. As she couldn’t do exercise or any form of movement, Iman’s weight ballooned.

Her surgeon, Dr Muffazal Lakdawala, believes his patient actually has lymphoedema, a long-term condition that causes swelling in the body's tissues, which usually develops in the arms or legs. “We are happy to inform all well-wishers that the medical team has successfully performed the surgery on Eman Ahmed,” the hospital said.
